Helpful links for First Year Students planning their Summer Orientation to NIU!

• Orientation & First-Year Experience
• Testing Services (TIP: We recommend that you take your Placement Evaluations BEFORE your Summer Orientation if at all possible!)
• Student Health Insurance Enrollment
• Student Health Insurance Waiver Process (Avoid additional costs if your parents/guardian intends on keeping on their Health Insurance Plan)
• NIU requires all students to provide Proof of Immunization (TIP: Avoid a LATE FEE & a Registration Hold - Provide NIU with your immunization record before the start of classes!)
• Housing & Dining
• Admissions (Don't forget to: Confirm your acceptance! Verify NIU has received your FINAL/Official High School Transcripts & Official/Highest ACT Score! IF Admissions does not receive your Official High School transcripts & your Official ACT score, you will not be able to register for the Spring Term)
• Financial Aid & Bursars Office
